Understand the three-layer system
Many waterproof socks combine a durable knit outer layer, a waterproof breathable membrane and a comfortable inner lining. Each layer contributes to abrasion resistance, water protection and next-to-skin feel.
Define performance and test method
Ask how waterproofness is tested and whether the program has a target hydrostatic pressure or wear condition. Breathability, membrane durability and cuff entry should be considered alongside water resistance.

Sample in the intended footwear
