Start with the heel pocket shape
A deeper, correctly shaped heel pocket helps the sock follow the foot instead of pulling forward. The pattern should be tested across the intended shoe-size range.
Use balanced opening tension
Too little tension allows movement, while too much can feel restrictive. Elastic distribution and fabric recovery should work together with the heel grip.
- Heel depth
- Opening circumference
- Elastic recovery
- Foot length grading
- Toe-box stretch
Test inside real footwear
Fit trials should include sneakers, loafers or other target shoes. Walking tests reveal slipping that is not visible when the wearer is standing still.
